EUS
EUS
EUS, or Endoscopic Ultrasound, is a minimally invasive procedure combining endoscopy and ultrasound. A thin, flexible tube with an ultrasound probe at the end is inserted into the body (usually through the mouth or rectum). Ultrasound waves create images of the digestive tract’s lining and surrounding organs. EUS is used to diagnose and stage various conditions, including pancreatic and biliary cancers, esophageal varices, and inflammatory bowel disease. It can also guide biopsies and drain fluid collections. Compared to other imaging techniques, it provides high-resolution images of deep structures.
